No they’re not. America is lost. It’s composed of fascists, folks on the left, and people who don’t pay attention to shit. We saw this recently with Kirk’s death. Most folks had no idea who he was, but the people that stayed informed did. So when he died, the people who weren’t informed suddenly saw most of the left saying “That sucks, but he doesn’t deserve to be immortalized” along with the performative activists celebrating the murder.
Those are the ones that the right-wing amplified. These uninformed people are the same ones who are undecided a lot — and they will let things like this dictate their vote. Because while they pretend to not be tribal and above the fray, they’re really the most involved. They’ll let any amount of propaganda tell them how to vote without caring about the actual outcome of certain people winning. It’s how Trump won again.
America is f*cked. While it’s not increasingly right-wing and supportive of fascism (as the right would have you believe), it is increasingly filled with non-consumers of facts and reality. They don’t want to see what’s going on, so they just don’t pay attention. And when something finally happens to get their attention, the drive-in misinformation machine ensures that their lies are the first thing that many people see.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they declared the democratic party a terrorist organization and justify that as a reason to remove them from the ballot. You’ll still get to vote but there will only be one name for each spot. The democrats would sue of course but whoops the Supreme Court just won’t have time to hear the case before the elections.
