You can be extremely knowledgeable and wise but be regarded as a fool by others.
There is no reason to not be knowledgeable and wise just for yourself.

I’d rather grow into my authentic self and gain real wisdom than chase the shallow validation of people who don’t truly know me anyway.

Definitely noticed this to be true with language learning. Everyone sounds stupid when they start trying to speak a new language, so a lot of people avoid trying it while they study and study, and a year or two of that later, when they decide practice speaking…they still sound stupid because they haven’t worked on that part, the instant recall, improvisation, etc. that goes into a conversation. Better to start practicing early, and get over the concern of sounding stupid, and with time and experience eventually you won’t sound stupid.
