Violence and politics are the same thing. If you don’t think so it just means they haven’t used it against you yet.

Violence has been an integral part of American politics since the Revolutionary War. Virtually every major American policy advancement has been a result of violence at some level. Independence, abolishing human slavery, labor unions, farmers’ unions, workers’ rights, civil rights, war and anti-war: all steeped in violence and bloodshed. We don’t like *admitting* it, because violence is bad and we believe ourselves above this. But do the math.

They only consider violence political if it doesn’t involve the institutions or economic systems. Wars, sanctions, labor exploitation, none of that gets counted.

Americans: political pence is *never* okay.
So like… tea parties and revolutions are bad? Or is it actually sometimes okay? If not for political violence, we’d be British.
