The timeline of the rebellious actions should be made more clear. Abe Lincoln’s victory wasn’t even certified by Congress **(cough, January 6th)* before South Carolina illegally seceded.
These lil babies didn’t want to wait for Abe to do anything. They wanted to own people so bad they told everyone they wanted their own country.

Democrats? You mean conservatives. Saying Democrats is misleading since the parties swapped ideologies. It’s the ideology that’s important. Back then, Democrats were the conservative party, while Republicans were the liberal, progressive party.

Every time I meet someone who defends the Confederacy it’s a right leaning person.

Stayed with my wife’s extended family for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. Though it was in CA, the aunt and uncle we stayed with are MAGATS, so no one brought up politics.
However, the uncle did call out a few politicians back in the day being in the KKK and would follow it up with, “they were a Democrat, right? Yeah, they were a Democrat.”
I didn’t say anything, but I wanted to tell him to go to a klan meeting, call them democrats, and see how they’d react. I know there used to be Dixiecrats back in the day, but I know what you’re doing.
