The GOP has wanted to shift the tax base down via a national sales tax for **decades**. They finally did it.
It’s the difference between being forced to pay taxes and the choice of paying taxes they think trading property taxes or income taxes for tariffs gives them choice because they can simply not buy things. These same people will bitch and moan when everything shutters because no one is buying anything because they expect everyone else to continue to pay while they don’t.
