Honestly, I’m OK with respecting the US flag. There’s a written code regarding practices for dealing with the flag. However, the same people who support flag burning bans also tend to deface the flag with their red and blue lines bullshit. That code is clear about not defacing the flag by marking it up or using it for promotional purposes.
That code has much less to say about where the first amendment comes into contact with flag burning.
I thought a number of years ago the supreme court ruled that burning a flag was protected free speech. Could be wrong though.

The U.S. Flag Code actually recommends burning old flags!

I plan to burn my flag tomorrow, and record it. Not because I hate this country, but in defense of the ideals the flag stands for.

Where in the constitution does it give the president the authority to directly legislate? Not that anyone has paid attention to that dusty old document lately.

Someone should tell them that the US Flag Code requires you to burn the flag to dispose of it.Β
