The Ise Monogatari, or Tales of Isei, attributed to Ariwara no Narihira in Japan. This copy, dating to Karoku 3, or 1227, is derived from a version dictated by the Monk Jien. Presently, it is the oldest, or one of the oldest copies in North America and Europe. A milestone acquisition [2048×1536]
