Hey everyone!
I would like to share some details of a recent archaeological find from the fields of Xanten. During another round of metal detecting, I discovered a shoe last wedge, made of flint, dating back to the Neolithic period, between 4900 and 2800 BCE. It was used in prehistoric times for woodworking tasks, such as splitting wood, carving, etc.
*This artifact was found in the same field where I previously discovered a Bronze Age flanged axe, indicating long-term human activity at this site across different prehistoric periods.
It's just a stunning field!
