**Scientists suspect that the person wearing the helmet may have participated in the punitive expedition against the Iazyges in Pannonia in 167-171 CE and 177-178 CE. The helmet has the inscription C*III*IVL*M*I*EVC, which means: C(ohors) tertia IVL(iana) M(anipulus) primus LVC(ii). The researchers explain that the owner of the helmet was the cavalryman in the first maniple of centurion Lucius in the fourth cohort Iulian.**
