Hanging scroll Bestowing the Buddhist Name “Fumyō”; in 1425 Zen Master Ichidon Shōzui of Kenchōji, Kamakura, gave this scroll to apprentice monk Jumyō (name meaning “marvelous”). Shōzui remarked that he isn’t that, gifting the new name (“unmarvelous”), acquired by MET 2021 [1655 x 4000]
