Large crowds from around the world flocked to the Forbidden City in Beijing to see the statue of Darius the Great (522–486 BC), loaned by the National Museum of Iran. [1200×720]

The final stop of the “Glory of Ancient Persia” exhibition was in Xinjiang, which ended in March after hugely-successful runs in Beijing and Shanghai (over 50 million people visited it). Alongside the statue of Darius the Great, 270 other artifacts were also on display, which showcased 3,000 years of Iranian history.
