The ‘Sica’ (from Albanian – thikë, “knife”) ca 1st – 2nd Century CE. A curved dagger used by the Ancient Illyrians. The Romans referred to their wielders as ‘Sicarii’ (dagger men); a term which has evolved into the modern Spanish word – ‘Sicario’ , meaning ‘hitman’. [320 x 600]
