I mean they are told “but the holocaust was so long ago” all the time though

Jewish people received reparations for the Holocaust because Germany was forced to take public accountability. They admitted the harm, paid for stolen assets, forced labor, and the trauma survivors endured. It wasn’t out of generosity, it was pressure, guilt, and global demand for justice.
Meanwhile, Black Americans are told to “move on” from slavery, a system that lasted centuries and built the entire U.S. economy. After slavery ended, it didn’t stop. We got Jim Crow, redlining, lynchings, the school-to-prison pipeline, medical experiments, and mass incarceration. But every time reparations are brought up, the same people start crying about how it’s too complicated, too expensive, or too far in the past.
The difference? Holocaust reparations were for crimes someone else committed. It made America look righteous to support that. Slavery and systemic racism? That’s America’s crime — and they don’t want to pay for something they still benefit from.
No one’s saying Jewish people didn’t deserve reparations. We’re saying Black Americans do too, and it’s long overdue.

There is actually talk about this through the UN. You might find this interesting.
Remember 40 acres and a mule. They had literally started giving out this sort of reparation but then snatched it all back within 2 years to return to the former slave owners.
Cause black people are black and also because they’re ancestors did it.
Facing it and knowing the truth of it amplifies the fault in practically every system in our country. They don’t want those faults amplified. They thrive off of them.

Much more recently – Survivors of the Japanese internment were also paid reparations.

The insidiousness of the us and europe on this is comical, like a multifaceted seven layer dip of evil. Like there’s the very open and obvious antiblackness at work here, but also it’s important to note that they’ve found a way to profit geopolitically from the Holocaust, which was a crime against Jewish people that THEY carried out: israel. Following wwii europe pretended to be sorry for its antisemitism so that it had an excuse to establish a giant glorified military base in the most oil rich region on earth, and the us very quickly took up the mantle of sending them enough weapons to kill god and complete international immunity for any and all of their crimes against the people whose land israel had stolen to make their illegitimate state. As a certain ex president once said (and every single us president since 1948 agrees with this, most just haven’t been bold enough to declare their evil so openly): “israel is the best investment the us makes, and if it didn’t exist we would have to invent an israel to protect our interests in the region”.

There are people who want to forget the Holocaust happened, those are the same people staunchly opposed to reparations because it would mean societal changes would have to happen for the very act to be seriously considered and implemented. Those SAME people who would very much like to forget the Holocaust have a vested interest in making sure to whitewash slavery, we know who’s in our way. Why bring other people into it

Ugh. I hate posts like this. Not because they’re bad or anything (they’re needed), but because it’s a reminder that it’s not a US problem. It’s the world.
And very, very few people will ever know why.

Ok so first thing there are a lot of white people that think Jewish people should forget the Holocaust or that the Holocaust wasn’t bad or happened. They just dont say it upfront
Second Jews are pretty much tied with Black people in the having pretty much zero compensation from crimes committed against their group as a whole. The closest thing the Jews ever got as reparations was being forced to fight the Arabs for a desert backwater state and the guys doing the reparations were selling top of the line weapons to the Arabs.
Stop trying to play genocide olympics it only makes you look like a psychopath that values civil rights in transactional terms.
“Why does some people think bad thing should be forgotten but this other bad thing did to different race shouldn’t?!” Its cause they’re racists their decisions arent logical to begin with.
