Northwest Coast Indigenous art is at a level of its own imho. Everyday, mundane items like spoons, boxes, bowls, plates were/are highly decorated with mythic figures and family symbols. Art wasn’t hung on the wall, it was carved, woven, or painted into most every object. The spiritual became fused with the everyday, craftsmanship at a superlative level.
