Thousands of years separate us but that person unmistakenly is leaving his nonna’s way too full of food.
[The ancient artifact, dating back to the Eneolithic period ( 3rd millennium BC ), was found in 1955 at the Vado all’Arancio farm near Cura Nuova by farmer Dino Arzilli during some plowing and threshing work. The farmer, although struck by the statuette, did not immediately understand its value, but decided to keep it anyway: the stele ended up kept for years inside a chicken coop, where the hens used it to sharpen their beaks.

Fortuitously noticed by the carpenter Sergio Bucci in the seventies, after having spoken about it with Arzilli, the stele was delivered to the archaeological museum of the Maremma city, where it was possible to confirm with certainty the great discovery. Since then the stele has become the symbol of the museum, as well as the most important piece and major attraction.
