Heh, that’s a funny coincidence for me.. I just showed my partner an episode of the documentary series *Unearthed* about Samarra, because I was surprised to find it… I was a US soldier deployed to Samarra back in 2004 and 2005.. It’s a fascinating and beautiful city, and the ruins of the old city, and the spiral minaret are awesome!
