The last one doesn’t seem to show a general positive trend, so that would depend on your definition of “progress”.

And then there’s me, who really doesn’t know what my goals should be that I should be working towards, so I don’t even know what progress is on a personal level.

Yes, In every time you are progressing . It may be either negatively or positively.

    4. This reminds me of chaos therapy and butterfly effect: [Chaos theory [Wikipedia]](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_theory)

“Chaos theory states that within the apparent randomness of chaotic complex systems, there are underlying patterns, interconnection, constant feedback loops, repetition, self-similarity, fractals, and self-organization.The butterfly effect, an underlying principle of chaos, describes how a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state (meaning that there is sensitive dependence on initial conditions).”

    5. No. The last one is not progress. We need to understand that some days me do not progress and we could regress. Only if you are conscious about that you can avoid repeating mistakes so often.

I can only see this progress as a motivation for icy cold water from outside the titanic on never giving up on infiltrating the ship.

    7. The last one isn’t growth. It’s called a loop. In the context of weight loss there’s yoyo dieting where one does crash diet and loses weight, followed by binging and regaining weight. So no, the last one isn’t growth on a large time scale.
