    1. I never use my high beams. Because of this, cars coming toward me usually think I’m not turning them off (because they’re not on to begin with) so they keep theirs on and blind me. It also seems to make people behind me feel like they should turn theirs on too and help me out.

    2. yes but make it a 17ft tall truck with LEDs on every surface plus racks to hold more

I used to grab the rear view mirror and wiggle it up and down, back and forth, in most cases suddenly the car behind me would turn off the high beams.

I live in “carolina squat” country. I swear one of these days I am going to get one of those murderously bright light bars and mount it on the back of my car at eye level.

    5. If you drive a car with lights so bright/badly aimed that people think your high beams are always on, you’re an asshole.

I want something like this but pointing in the other direction to gently remind people to turn off the high beam.

    7. So I don’t know if this is legal or not but I usually will realign my left mirror so that it casts the light right into the drivers eyes. They usually back off within seconds of that. It’s a major problem down here in the south. These lifted trucks with custom headlights that literally blind you while they ride up on your bumper.

I didn’t open Reddit today just to be personally attacked like this. Please delete this video of my private life immediately.

I had someone doing that to me i took the rear view mirror off handed it to my passenger and told them to blind his ass after 5 minutes they backed off

It’s happens to everyone. It would help if people bothered to check the alignment of their headlights every now and then – especially easy to determine if only one of them is out of whack. Just pull up to a flat wall and get within 15 feet or so. Make sure lights are on and there are no objects between car and wall and you’ll be able to see if one beam is higher than the other.

I keep my mirrors perma tilted in a way that lights don’t go in my eyes, sure I actually have to turn my head to check the mirrors but like every cars headlights are just too bright, whats the other solution? go blind? never drive at night?

    12. just curious…aren’t all modern cars like that nowadays even when on auto mode?

    13. Lool. Of all the inventions on a car that little tab that changes the angle of the rear view mirror is a god send. Thankyo you to the bright spark who thought of that.

    14. Try being in a subcompact in a sea of big lifted suburban assault vehicles…

Their headlights are the perfect height to shine directly into my car and turn every reflective surface into a white hot phosphorous glow that completely wrecks my night vision.

Ive legit contemplated getting a mirror on a motorized hinge for the back deck so I can just press a button, have that flip up, and reflect their bullshit straight back into their fucking eyes…but I bet thats illegal for some reason or another.

    15. Out of all the easy things to legislate on that we are not doing. There should absolutely be a lumens limit on all vehicles. It’s one of those things that everyone complains about but we continue to not see any laws passed to discourage it. I blame big light bulb, if you think that’s a joke, look up planned obsolescence.
