    1. The only brand that understood the assignment.

Make something that works, that solves a problem, that lasts, that is reproducable.

It’s not Bic that’s the problem. They’re the solution.

Making something different every single year is ridiculous. It’s not evolution. It’s wasteful and arrogant. Not to mention products aren’t being innovated, they’re being dissolved from the inside out by using less material, shittier materials, less design sense and making it less transferable.

It’s a pen. What else do you want it to do – check your pulse?

I know it’s nothing to do with the operation of the pen, but they’ve definitely changed the pen cap over time. I remember when their caps didn’t have a hole in the end, thus presenting a much more dangerous choking hazard for children.

Edit: [According to Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bic_Cristal), “Since 1991 the pen’s streamlined polypropylene cap has a small hole added, to reduce the risk of suffocation if the cap is inhaled.”

We’re forgetting the pink and purple versions that were marketed at the ladies ‘gap in the market’ as they can’t write in black or blue

Not pictured: the lid now has a hole in it. Didn’t back in the 50s, when men were men and choked to death if it got lodged in their throat.

    5. You know what though? It be 10 years later and you find one with the cap behind a bed or sum and it STILL writes!!! The only pen that is that reliable. It just ain’t comfortable.

    7. Never used a bic pen, but if it works, why change it?

Bic probably doesn’t have shareholders in its ears telling it to add AI or something else every year.
