what happened? Wage stagnation from around 1970 to today. Companies keep all the profits for themselves, the C-suite, and the shareholders and give none to the employees. Simple as that.

Not even just buy a house. My dad had the free time to help build our house, even when my mom wasn’t working

That’s what happens when you learn to listen to what the government tells you is better for you. Like trickle down economics, that we need the super wealthy, etc etc and people buy into it.
Also learn that the economy doing “good” and the stock market doing “good’. Is only good for the super rich, not for the average person.

neo liberalism happened. in the 70s a boss earned about 2-3 times the wage of an employee. nowadays it’s 10 times that much (or even more than that most often). the wages for employees didn’t change though.

Call me crazy all you like but this is what they want. the more alone they make people the more radicalized people can become and the more influential leading to people seeking short sighted comfort such as porn or drugs or food. leading to them becoming more alone and desperate leading to people joining groups the promise like minded people such as radical groups, terrorist groups, political groups, racist groups, ect. All of this plays into the capitalist machine to make the lower class stay poor and the upper class make more and more money. It also divides people by anything and everything so that we never group up and rise to overthrow this oppressive system.

I bought my house in 2018 for less than 2X my current salary. It’s now worth over 3X my salary and I make more than double my neighborhood’s household income. Pretty unsustainable
