      The GM Express concept was 200+ mph intercity travel to compete with short to mid haul air travel. Vehicle could cost more, perhaps as much as a helicopter. Automakers also knew, by this time, that cruise speeds over 100 mph would need automated guidance on separated lanes or guideways. Ford’s earlier Levacar project was angling this way too.

      I still have all my BTTF-2 “Solar Shades” from Pizza Hut. Movie promos/swag were definitely hitting “88mph” at the time, cool memories.
