As someone who’s lived in both – Tokyo has way more unique things to do than NYC unless if you’re a billionaire or something.

Google “thing japan meme” if you want a blast from the past. I’m going to Japan with some friends later this year and send them one once a week lol

I’ve never thought about NYC like that. I just think NYC looks dirtier.

Well, Tokyo didn’t smell like piss all the time.
I feel like this hate comes from a certain community of whiny people who don’t like Japan for political reasons.

One is a dirty city where people don’t respect one another. The other one is a city bit more clean than your average where people usually have *some* respect towards others.

Japan is pretty vivid but even more dystopian than the US. At least here in the US, we can tell our jobs to fuck off. In Japan, their culture makes you feel like trash so much as thinking about looking for a new job.

As a Texan I was marveling at everything walking through Manhattan. I think people just hate where they live typically. I don’t like the boring flatlands and lifted trucks everywhere.

Hey, that kind of density is rare in America. It’s more like suburban sprawl and “TURN TO GOD OR BURN IN HELL” billboards. And if you’re from a place like NYC you just ignore the ads anyway.
