Yeah when AI takes everyone’s job they won’t have an income to pay taxes on. I guess they are technically correct

“Hey, we’re going to destroy the world, so instead of doing the responsible thing and maybe slowing down the whole world-destroying thing, let’s make up a bunch of bullshit proposals so it looks like we’re doing something even though it actually requires no effort from us to fix the problem we’re creating “. Assholes.

      > in which Sam Altman’s company laid out a sweeping blueprint for economic reform on a scale it compared to the Progressive Era of the early 1900s and Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal of the 1930s. The central thrust: As AI systems approach superintelligence—defined as capabilities that surpass the smartest humans—the existing tax code, labor market, and social safety net are all dangerously unprepared for what’s coming.

There’s so, so many assumptions here, it’s laughable.

The current “AI’s” can barely translate from one language to another correctly.

As to them ‘approaching super intelligence’, yeah, I’ll be way older and greyer before that happens.

The bubble is going to burst if, and when, the stock market in the USA realises reality.

But given they voted DJT in for a second time, it might take a while for reality to permeate through the avarice.

    4. The concept of AI taking over and allowing us to not work as much would be cool if our lives weren’t tied to our ability to make money. Experience tells me these AI companies are just going to focus on their profits and fuck every worker over with zero guilt

Shockingly— no income tax is not actually a solution to an issue of “no income”

The thing is ai can’t do manual labor at least not as cheaply as a human so all the jobs that take an education will go to ai and we’ll all be stuck doing hard labor for our ai overlords. The matrix was close.

    7. Too bad neither of them have any actual say in tax rates. Meanwhile the government is spending money faster than ever so taxes aren’t going anywhere

Well shit, how kind, we won’t have to pay taxes for the jobs we don’t have, THANKS SAM!

      Fuck my life

    9. The goal for Sam is not to have their AI agents taxed. Which is what should be done. All I have heard is how AI will take jobs. Well social programs don’t pay for themselves. They are paid through taxes. The only way to continue the programs or get better ones is through taxes. So let’s not do away with taxes, let’s tax AI agents at 100%.

Kinda hard to get taxes when your vision is to have people sitting at home jobless….

Yea and the inventor of the Segway said nobody would have to walk anymore. These people are full of themselves and want to sell you a “life changing miracle”

Are we at the part of P 2025 where we’re making lists of “useless eaters” for, uh, future reference?

Why does anyone think these billionaires who use every tax loophole possible to avoid paying their fair share of taxes will ever do anything to help everyday people?

    14. This isn’t about giving people back their hard earned money, it’s about defunding that administrative state that could regulate and hinder their ability to control everything, including everyone living within their fiefdom.
