    1. Do their eyes stay crying the whole time or how does that work, asking for a friend

I was sobbing during this part watching this live. I had to excuse myself.

    3. The weird shape of the capsule and the camera angle reminds me of four people trying to live in my attic.

Anyone know why this spot is so bright relative to other parts of the moon?

Humanity at its best in space while simultaneously at its worst on earth. Always reassuring to see there is good still worth fighting for.

    6. Damn, that’s really touching. I volunteer at a local observatory. I’m going to find the location of Carroll on the moon map and then show it to our visitors along with this story.

    7. Sometimes we gotta send people a million miles away to remind ourselves how we should be acting back home.

The high pitched whine while they all hugged was, for some reason, incredibly poignant to me. Hard to explain why. Just very moving.

I can’t imagine how close this experience brings astronauts. It must be such a beautiful experience to share. They seem like a great group of people

Man some comments are right on the money, sending people into space gives people so much hope. It was always about hope.

    10. This is what life and humanity is supposed to be about.

      Science. Exploration. Love. Cooperation.

Fuck man this is what it means to be human. Fuck all the shit going on right now, this should be at the top of everyone’s feed

Real men hug in space and celebrate the women in their lives.

That’s peak perfect masculinity right now. Teach your sons.

Within this momentous occasion, here is a tribute of love and longing. Bravo to this brave crew!

    14. How is it that there are still unmapped places on the Moon? Haven’t there been plenty of satellites sent near the moon to photograph it?

Aww man, that’s so beautiful. The emotion in his voice has me crying too. Love it.

    16. i was driving to the launch at the coast while watching the livestream when i learned his wife had passed from cancer recently making him a solo parent to 2 girls.

Made the launch so much more emotional for me when i got there, and now watching the livestream today and seeing this was incredible man, didnt expect it.
