This 500-pound bowl was made in 1830 for George IV who died before seeing it. William IV instead unveiled the silver-gilt wine cistern at his 65th birthday. Later Queen Victoria added a nautilus-shaped ladle and turned it into a punch bowl to serve guests at her son’s christening in 1842 [2000×2893]

500 pounds of silver-gilt for serving punch. Royal excess made literal.
I’ve seen it in person. It shocks you when you see it.
