My brain just hit the ‘Screensaver’ mode of pure satisfaction and started solving it on my phone also.

When he asked me before I clicked ‘’=‘’ “what do you think will show?” I said: “I think 1,1?”

wow this is neat. when i was a little kid my dad showed my 12345679 (without 8) * 9 = 111111111. in the old days he told me that’s how he’s sure the calculator is good.

TIL you can just square it and it will show 12345678987654321. wow!

    4. you can do it with any series of 1s with the highest (middle) numeral being equal to the number of ones used

      eg – 11111 x 11111 =123454321

Interestingly, it doesn’t work for all phones; my Galaxy A51 returns

      1.234567890E+16

Edit: yes, i realize it’s just a different notation. I’m just pointing out that my phone doesn’t give the full palindromic number. God forbid I’m not 100% specific
      . 🙄

When I was a kid we’d contrive ways to come up with 5318008 on calculators.

    7. My phones calculator has said the answer is 1.23456790E+16 and I have no idea what that means lmao
