    1. That was super lucky, OP, and I hope your dad has moved the magnifying glass into a drawer or something.

    2. I recently moved to a new desk at the office by the windows. Had my 🔍 in direct sunlight. Luckily I noticed the little ☀️ it was projecting on the cubicle wall before I left for the weekend.

    3. “ you gotta keep the fortune teller orb covered when not in use! Why? Because of the spirits?
No because if the sun shines on it it will burn down your house!”

I was home once and smelled smoke. Eventually discovered that one of those magnifying mirrors in the bathroom was angled just right to catch the sun and reflect it onto a towel, which was smoldering.

Excellent save. I’m a heavy equipment operator and I had to knock down a house this past summer because the homeowners had left a small little compact shaving mirror hanging in their outdoor shower. It set the wooden shingles on the house up and they lost everything. I’m always extra careful with magnifying glasses, mirrors, even glasses.

    6. I heard that owning a crystal ball is a massive fire hazard and they must always be covered when not in use because they too can reflect the light around them and cause house fires.

And if you’re working with chemicals, like floor stain, dont put your used rags in a bucket. It may spontaneously combustion in your kitchen and even if the house doesn’t burn down everything gets ruined.

LPT: If you do leave rags in a bucket, place it near a 12 pack of peach soda. That way when the fire gets too hot the soda cans explode and keeps the fire from spreading.
