I remember once I was in a meeting as a middle manager and one of the managers, who was a woman that worked under me, came in and sat beside me. My HR person (who was a woman) told her she looked nice today and then gave me a look and asked if I was going to tell my EMPLOYEE she looked nice.
One of my proudest moments was my employee looked her dead in the face and told her I would never say such a thing to her, not because I didn’t think it, but because I knew that it MIGHT offend her and I would never do anything to make anyone uncomfortable ever.
Jesus Christ. Just treat people with respect. It’s not that tough.
