I’ve said this before but I think this is cause humans lifespans have doubled, if not tripled, in a very short timeframe.
Humans used to need to have kids, and lots of them, super young to counteract this. So while now we can wait till we’re in our 20’s and 30’s, back then we couldn’t. That’s why it’s more of a process as an adult.
I could be wildly wrong who knows lol.

It probably has to do with the fact teenagers are at the peak fertility since humans used to live like 40 at best not too long ago, so there was a need to start pumping out kids early and fast. Also automatic downvote for sensoring the word…. teenager???? Why do you even need to sensor it?????

I mean in human biology the teen years was when humans used to have a ton of kids. Our hormones were dialed to 11 and we had to pump out kids, many died at birth or after, men sometimes had to go through multiple wives because of how hard it was on women at the time to keep baring kids.Â
And the only real benefit of having kids at the time was the free labor and having someone take care of you when you got older.
To a kingdom / country it was more workers and soldiers.
Honestly while we have been having children and far less of them now. We taboo having kids work as free labor, but countries still view babies as the same thing: workers and soldiers.Â

Waiting too long is definitely a factor, but I think that we might also need to study the psychological aspect as well, how putting pressure on yourself as a couple to initiate pregnancy might inadvertently be inhibiting your success.
