Thought people just had enough of Ed Sheeran and Lewis Hamilton

One day, unfortunately, the world’s glaciers will no longer exist, all because of human beings who are polluting the planet every day.

To the people mentioning Darwin awards or “are they dead” – do you not see the obvious amount of massive opening in the rope?

I’m old and jaded now but honestly it’s sad that the people with the power to actually reverse climate change couldn’t give a flying fuck about it.
I’d honestly be putting my efforts into protesting for or supporting charities that help the people that are here now.

not even 10m up and this post has already drawn in a toxic wave of haters, to be sharing the world with people who couldn’t give a damn about one another is such a disgrace to us as a race

Ofc the edgy cool kids will make fun of this but the sad reality is, this is not for the planet, it’s just for us. We’ve sped towards our own extinction, the earth will stay but we will be wiped out. But one consolation is so will the edgy jokes so I guess some positive will come out of it after all.

Time has already run out, we have cleared 2 degrees Celsius warming and probably going to pass 2.5 degrees. Either is catastrophic and now it’s not if, it’s when it’s going to be a catastrophe

Way to many people in the comments here confuse this with “just stop oil”.
This is an artistic installation to attract attention, make people think and get a point across. They are not literally hanging themself or putting them self in real danger (apart from slipping maybe).
It is not blocking or obstructing anyone/anything nor is it damaging property. Huge difference.

I don’t get the instant knee-jerk reaction to hate on climate activists. Sure there were plenty of stupid actions by some of them but these three here are not bothering anyone, they just stand there trying to focus some attention on a very important issue that gets ignored so much.
And so many people just make fun of them or even wishing for their deaths? Weird behavior.

We are within a few years of there not being any summer ice in the arctic, there will soon only be winter ice.

An I missing something? Why are so many comments angry at this? Isn’t this in the usual complainers head the perfect protest? Not disrupting anyone else, not blocking traffic, not damaging the oh so important bottom line

I remember an art piece of a woman who stood by a table full of many things, including a gun and knives.
She allowed people to do ANYTHING they wanted to her during the four hours.
It was not long before men cut off her clothes. It was not long before men touched her inappropriately. It was not long before a gun was in her hand at her head.
While she survived the encounter, holy hell.

I wish we had more trains in the US so we used less cars…. (alternatively I also wish our cities were better developed so it would be practical to actually walk places over driving.)
I’d like to do something like this, but I know I’d end up getting cold feet.

Time be done ran out years ago. I think an article said the “red line point of no return” was about 7 years ago.
We can now only lessen the damage but it will now take over a century to fix the problems. There was a window when it could be reversed far more quickly, but like many things, humans just ignored that shit.

The recent climate forecast are hopeless. Even if we DO manage to cut carbon emissions by **40% by 2030** humanity still has a **50% chance of extinction** from the runaway of irreversible climate change.
And we’re *obviously* sooo good at setting then achieving climate goals. We’ve never once moved back the goalpost OR changed the definition of “normal” temperatures for ENSO classifications -_-

That’s actually a pretty good metaphor, and as live art installation is pretty good. On point, grabs attention, makes you think “what the…oh …OH”.
As a piece of protest art, got to say top tier.
And they also benefit from being right.

Delayed gratification / punishment is one of the best ways to tell if someone, or a species, is intelligent. The fact the overwhelming majority of ppl are aware and dont care is apt once shit hits the fan. Global destruction in a few decades will wipe the egocentric smiles off ur dumbass faces. With any luck ill have a short time to experience that justice
