The details are so exquisite and life-like it could almost make you believe in dragons and winged horses

This absolutely incredible piece is known as the “Golden Pectoral from Tovsta Mohyla.” It was found in a burial mound in 1971. Scholars dispute whether it was made by Scythian craftsmen or by Greek metalworkers in nearby Panticapaeum on the eastern Crimea.
Of the three sections, the top represents scenes from everyday life; the middle (affixed to gold plate), perhaps plants and nature; and the bottom, perhaps cosmic or mythological beliefs (certainly mythical creatures!).
