      And of course even with this context, the artifacts go to the British Museum.

      Ahhahaha. Waiting for British redditors to explain why the statues are better off in the British museum because……well, they like them there. I mean, Greece is an European country, so it can’t be shrugged off saying Asian/African countries won’t maintain them.

      Btw, the British museum also has an intact piece of the Red Fort here in India. It was the front portion of Jahangir’s hamam, and is an absolute beauty, the front doors are wrought marble. Since everything else there was more or less blown up by the Brits and converted to an army barrack by them, Indian researchers will have to fly to Britain and take a special permit to study.. a vital part of a monument in India.
