    1. Yeah the west interfering in overthrowing and replacing the Iranian government with the shar of iran ..because of oil, of course…caused the blowback and the hardline religious leadership they have now.

iran air in the 70s hits different. before… well, you know. shes giving main character energy and the uniform is doing heavy lifting

    3. I lived in Tehran in the early 70s and flew Iran Air several times and this is exactly what it looked like. One of the projects I worked on was the now famous Bushehr nuclear power plant. What most people don’t now realize is that the American government pushed Iran to build a nuclear power plant and associated enrichment facilities that until the fall of the Shah were American designed projects.

    4. Before the Islamic “revolution” destroyed the culture and beauty of its country.

see? who wouldn’t want to fly this airline. In terms of culture, music, fashion, design etc the 70’s were the high watermark of human civilization – it’s all been downhill from there. By 1980 it was like none of it had even happened.

Iran is the textbook example of how a modern country can quickly spiral into a theocracy.

In a not too distant second place you’d be surprised how progressive Afghanistan was a few decades ago.
