      I believe this is a Mercury train, a streamliner passenger train designed by industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss which was operated by the New York Central Railroad from the 1930s until the 1950s.

      Edit: word choice (from “think” to “believe”)

      Could the driver & conductor even see forward in these trains? I’ve seen em before & I’ve never seen a windshield.

      It looks cool but wont it produce more drag at cost of more fuel or decreased speed? If the front was like a axe eould it made the drag less? Ik bullet trains have a bird like front for low drag and sonic booms at tunnels but the tech at that era wasnt that fast.
