And that’s not even mentioning the $700 PS5 Pro (which doesn’t even come with a disc drive or a stand) or the $200 PS5 CONTROLLER (which to be fair is just for the higher-end model, but still)

Yeah but if somebody is bumming the WiFi off of a McDonald’s behind the dumpsters on their switch everybody else has to deal with it

The my Nintendo rewards and stuff are pretty good (unless you live in the uk) though

Requiring a subscription to use games’ online functionality is a fucking scam no matter the platform

    3. PC is free. Nintendo doesn’t have good sales often and at least with PS+, you get two free games every month.

    4. Sorry but Nintendo doesn’t use servers for most of its games, on Xbox at least we’re paying for games to actually have servers. We’re paying for pier to pier on Nintendo.

It should be free. I’m not defending it. But Nintendo online is the worst and it’s not even the worst for free

    5. If Nintendo had higher end consoles and controllers they would be similarly priced. Aren’t standard joy-cons $100?

    6. “decent” You’re not just paying for something free, you’re paying for the worst by far.

If you try to justify it with games you can play “for free” (from 20 years ago, for a limited time, and by paying a little more), I’ll hit you.

    7. The Pokemon Company, “Oh, put our game on the native emulator? Naw charge $20 for it and don’t add any new features”

    8. I’m a huge Nintendo fan but this isn’t a fair comparison. Nintendo’s online service only allows you to play games if you’re connected to the internet, and you don’t get to keep anything if you discontinue it. The servers are garbage, the communication options are garbage, and the library is super limited. At least with PSN, I have stable servers, get free game downloads that I can play offline, and I get to keep those games even when I cancel.

    9. When the Switch released, online was free. Once the subscription came around, there was no (at least not noticable) quality increase in the service. So it went from being free to a 20$ service for no reason, there were no actual new features included.

This was before the expansion pack (which is also a scam imo) or any of the emulators that you have to pay a subscription for.
