This is why religion is bad.
It isn’t intrinsically a bad thing to believe in a power greater than yourself. Nor is it bad to believe that as a human and in a society that we should follow a code of conduct. But in the hands of humans, in the deepest parts of our reptilian brains, believing you are chosen by, or that you know and understand that higher power better than others, creates a dissociative complex that justifies disgusting, inhumane behavior.
These people have been raised and groomed to truly believe that they are superior. They don’t see muslim refugees as human beings. They believe they have an absolute right determined by god, to treat other human beings worse than animals.
How sad that we cannot collectively move on from these ancient concepts of divine superiority. The world will forever be held back by religion.
