in Fort worth 1995, we had softball size hail strike during our big annual family friendly “May fest.” kids had to get therapy. People ran under trees for cover, but the branches were all knocked down on top of them. Hail went right through sunroofs and through the roofs of area homes. 400+ injuries.

Had this in Africa as a kid on a vacation. Most bizarre event of my life.
On the beach 10 minutes from the hotel, hot day, not a cloud in the sky.
Suddenly huge clouds gathered and we decided to head back, about 25 meters from the hotel it started hailing maybe 3/4 or a half the size of this. My dad was sheltering me under a palm tree with his shirt. I’m convinced if there wasn’t a palm tree there we wouldn’t have made it.
