This picture took place on (almost) exactly this day 25 years ago. Static-X had lunch with the staff of the Hot Topic Headquarters.
Hot Topic (a famous mall outlet store which catered to Goth and alt-rock) was where many artists had their first (or only) opportunity to have their music in a brick&mortar. Many of them came to visit and show thanks. I remember they had a wall with signed group photos/memorabilia from Many artists. Mostly Rock/ska/etc but also some others, including EZE of NWA fame.

Damn. I forgot all about them.
That’s pretty cool
Moms was/is a BAMF
Please dont say you were born about 40 weeks later, OP.
Nice, but isnt 25 years ago….2001 instead of the 90’s? Even that email is dated 2001
So it was 2001, not the 1990s.
Awesome band. RIP Wayne.
This was 2001, but fuck it because it’s close enough and my kids have discovered them and regardless I feel old. 🤨
I saw them open for System of a Down in ‘98 in Hollywood. Wayne Static was such a nice guy, he just sat down in the lounge next to me and my cousin and just started chatting us up in between bands. No pretentiousness, just checking in on 2 teenage metal kids sitting alone. Coolest thing about his hair was that it was basically hollow in the middle, it was a hair crown lol. Sad he couldn’t shake the demons. Rip.
Your mom is 2000s cool
But damn cool nonetheless
They were gonna meet the day before but yeaaah they pushed it
Easily in my top 10 favorite bands. When I gotta get shit done its easily the #1.
*Hope she dont crash…*
So how much do you look like Wayne?

Nice Jersey Mom
I took this pic at Deep Ellum Live (Dallas,TX) when they opened for Soulfly! 🤘

Wonder what they thought when Bien Venidos started playing.
RIP Wayne
Weird coincidence. I just watched a video on YouTube yesterday where a guy went to look at the house where Wayne lived, and also died. It was a tiny little shack out in the middle of nowhere in the desert. There was also a bigger looking barn-like structure as a recording studio, which looked to be in much better condition than the rest of the property, but the house looked pretty sad.
Clearly nobody had done anything with it since he died. The studio looked fine, and appeared much newer than the house. But the rest of the place was trashed, with stuff just strewn around the property. It was kinda sad.
I found it pretty wild that he was such a big rock star but lived in such a small house in a desolate place.
Dirthouse is a killer tune
This is the weird stuff I want to see here!
Jeff Daniels too!
I have a cracked drumstick from a show, dope.
His hand is actually stuck like that
This is amazing. Rip wayne ❤️
Is that Dave coulier on the left
Very cool! Your lucky mom! A lot of metal snobs turned their noses up at Static-X, but they were great. I feel they are like a cult classic that will catch later generations more than the original fanbase.
