It’s funny cause when you hear about road rage incidents that turn violent, like people shooting at other cars, it’s almost always in the south. The south is aggressive on a whole different level. I’ll take northern “rudeness” over southern “hospitality” any day.

When my sister moved to the south she was immediately ostracized because she didn’t attend church. Southerners are not as warm and welcoming as they try to get us to believe they are.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time in both, but I’ll admit was born and raised in the north.
North’s energy is better. I’d rather know someone doesn’t fuck with me and just deal with it rather than the back talk and passive aggressive bs.
North has its problems, but when I need help up north, strangers will lend a hand. Not sayings it not the case in the south, but I’ve never experienced it.

I always say southerners are nice to tourists but hostile to outsiders. If you don’t like their ways, they will ostracize you, and you’re different you will hear about it. It’s not polite, it’s just theater till they find out something they don’t like about you.

I prefer the folks up here – there’s straight forwardness and ‘unpoliteness’ bc underneath it is genuine kindness once people know you aren’t on any weird shit vs the fake nice bible thumping hypocrites i grew up with.
