This is sort of outside this post but tbh if Napoleon somehow had won at Leipzig too after winning at Lutzen and Dresden he probably could have pulled off the greatest comeback in history after the most disastrous invasion ever (that of Russia). We almost missed such a comeback story…

Meh, I stopped following at the second.
Those endless Hollywood sequels are just unimaginative…
(Like King Louis. How many of those did they make? Sixteen??? Get some new material for fuck’s sake!)

David Attenborough is narrating that episode: “Alas for the poor kingdoms, it wasn’t to be. In nature, the hunter may well become the prey. Here, Napoleon had the upper hand and the little pups of France got to eat.”

Third time was not the charm.

The third coalition handled it very poorly. The Austrians didn’t wait for the Russians, split up their forces, and charged Mack into Bavaria without caution. If they had coordinated better, they very well could have won. Especially since Prussia joined later that year. Imagine if Great Britain, Austria, Prussia and Russia stood together against Napoleon in 1807 instead of charging at him one at a time

I think the third was a great way to wrap up the original trilogy. 4th “Saxon/Prussian sequel” was pretty good but after that the coalition series progressively started to go down hill. They really lost the plot with the Spain & Russia spin offs.
