Lesbians, what’s going on?

I’ve asked my gay buddies how they like being married to another man and from what I gathered, a lot of them dont believe in monogamy. They marry someone they love and want to spend their life with but they are also both open to sleeping with other people.
I support everything this post tries to convey, but how is this a “data is beautiful” post? It is literally just a line chart.

I read this article a few years back that said lesbian relationships experienced high rates of domestic violence. I thought that was interesting. And this also kind of shows that lesbian relationships don’t seem all that stable.

Given that in heterosexual marriages it’s most common for the woman to file regardless of the cause of the marriage dissolving, I wonder how many gay male marriages don’t end because neither wants to do the paperwork.

Fun fact: Netherlands was the first country to legalize same sex marriage. (April 1st 2001)

Higher rates of non monogamy absolutely contributes to this

That is interesting though. I’ve heard anecdotally that lesbians get into serious relationships at an accelerated rate compared to gay male and hetero ones. I do take issue with 10 years being classed as “long term”. 10 years wouldn’t be classed as a long marriage. I’d say at least 15 years or 20 years, but maybe the data isn’t sufficient that far back for gay marriages.

Probably more open marriages. And males take longer to commit vs lesbians so they probably choose to get married very knowingly after being together for a while.

Makes sense. Who doesn’t want their dick sucked amazingly just because they want too. With zero fuss.

Well gay men in relationships get married at a much lower percentage than straight men. You can twist statistics any way you want.

I mean, both partners only have to deal with man-bullshit, can you imagine of both had to deal with woman-bullshit?

Not data related but when doing a lot of work at home for couples, I noticed gay men couples seemed more relaxed and at peace especially towards older men. Most of them had solid education, good jobs and hobbies.
Gay women couples had more unstable situations, be it professional or private.
But that’s my 2cents with personal experience. Would be interested in data providing more info.

This is certainly one of those situations where correlation doesn’t mean causation…… But…. One could argue women are the biggest cause of divorce. Just sayin

Women are most of the time the ones that initiate a divorce so lesbian marriages having more divorces is expected. Men will stay longer in a marriage while not feeling it anymore, which explains why gay male marriages arent having as much divorces.
