She doesn’t look like she was in a hospital, but I don’t know for sure. If she had been, she would have had some lovely gas to make her oblivious to most of what was happening. My grandma was howling like a dog when she had my mom in 1956, and the only thing she remembered was “hearing a dog.” It took the nurse to tell her that it was her howling.
