Im pretty sure that banner is in relation to the fact many privately charted and unsanctioned ships kept coming to Palestine and disrupting the british effort to migrate the sanctioned migrants. The british wouldn’t let them de-board.
It was unsanctioned boats like those, that causes a much higher influx of Jewish immigrants and added to the problem.

Clearly the holocaust and the treatment of the Palestinians by Israel is not a 1:1 equivalence, just as the Jewish state of Israel isn’t representative of all Jews. However there is palpable hypocrisy of the Jewish mass exodus from Europe and the founding the state of Israel in reaction to the holocaust, and the long history of blatant, deliberate and well documented Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The Nazis used Jewish resistance, uprising and riots as pretext for brutal reprisals, in the same way they used other, non-Jewish resistance to occupation as pretext to wipe out entire villages and burn them to the ground. The idea that Israel’s crimes are excused by the 1948 war, the six day war, October 7th, etc is the same sort of logic, and the use of collective punishment is itself a war crime.
Supporter of Israel or not, I just don’t understand how one can look at the current Gaza War and the reported extremely high percentage of Palestinian casualties being civilians especially women and children and hand wave that away. Nor do I understand how the specific examples of atrocities like civilian torture, targeting of journalists and aid workers, bombing and expulsion of civilians noncombatants hospitals, preventing aid from entering Gaza, various NGOs and a UN bodies calling it all a genocide, etc and still carry water for Israel. Arguing that these things aren’t happening and are being completely fabricated for propaganda is the same argument’s holocaust deniers base their claims on.
