I think I’ve only known two people who had Windows Phones. They both liked them but then MS pulled the plug.

41MP camera is already crazy. My first digital SLR camera, which took ridiculously good photos was only 6MP.

I was an early adopter of Windows Phone, taking a brief break from Android. The UI and UX is still top notch today, especially on OLED displays, but M$ fucked up bad.

I’d honestly rather have them dump more money into a new Windows phone than the XBox division. I loved that phone when I had it. I can only image how nice it would be now that the App Store has matured on Win11.

Loved my windows phone it worked really well. And the App Store was very, very empty.

That was a great phone. I also had the Samsung before they gave to us Microsoft folk. They was a banger phone too.

My lumia was my favorite phone I’ve ever had. There were so many amazing and free apps included, the camera was magnificent, and it felt cool. Then they killed it. I still have it for the camera.

Windows phones were so frustrating for me as someone who never owned one, but had to support them at work.

I had one of these when it came out. Replaced after a fotode of years because nobody would make apps for it

Amazing hardware for the time at a great price. But the lack of functional apps made the phone useless for casual users like myself at the time. I remember having to shortcut to websites like YouTube because the app.didnt exist

I loved my windows phone! Man I wish they were still a thing

Not a day goes by that I don’t think of my old lumia(s). Cool interface, even the budget devices were fast, and the panel colors were awesome. I used to have the cyan and yellow ones.
Oedius_Rex on
Had this exact phone. Big FYI, these are somewhat sought after because it’s pretty much the only phone ever made that featured a real Xenon flash instead of an LED bulb flash. Fantastic for night time flash photography and gives a really good early 2000s digicam look that’s back in style now

Sucks Microsoft gave up on it. Google is turning into Apple now and we really need a disrupterÂ

The early Lumia cameras were incredibly good. I miss mine

I think windows phone would have done better if they had adopted the same stile of apple/android look for the apps

The Lumia 1020!!
One of my favorite phones ever! Honestly the whole Windows Lumia line was sublime. Way ahead of its time and I would say better than anything out in recent years. Only hamstrung by the App Store or lack of one.
Superior build, OS and a camera still to be beat (any in the line). I’ll die on this hill.

Man I would have killed for one of those but my provider at the time was lame and didn’t have stuff like that. Heck it was a time and half even before they got the iPhone. I so wish they still made windows phones.

I made ringtones for those things back in the day! They were dope. I actually liked mine.

I had the Samsung one, cant remember what it was called. Windows phone 8 was great, but there were no apps, so I went back to Iphone.

Not terrible for back then I guess. How did it work?

We bought a windows phone (and one of those godawful windows RT tablets). The phone was shockingly okay, well beyond my expectations

Oh man. I still have mine. The OS was so damn simple to use.
They definitely screwed up with windows phone. It should have been amazing.

Mega pixel count doesn’t equal better photos. At least not always.

I loved my windows phone. I always felt like everything you wanted to do took 1 less click than on android.

I don’t remember what windows phone I had, but I did really like it. Only downside was the piss poor app support, probably one of main the reasons why it died.

I loved my Samsung 920 Windows Phone and Zune too.
I still kind of live through the Windows Phone thing on my Pixel 9.
Oh man, I loved Windows Phone. I think if they’d come out the gate with the ability to run Android apps it would have done well. Slick OS, and those Nokias were fucking excellent too. Great cameras, good form factor, and damn near bombproof to boot.

I was forced to own the Lumia 1020 as my xperia of the same era decided it wants to be a flip phone & i pretty much held onto it until it disintegrated. One of the best i’ve had.

I actually really liked windows phone back then and would have happily switched if they sorted out their app support. It was a good OS but compared to apple and android it was basically a dumb phone.
The Lumia 950 that let you use it as a desktop pc was a great concept.
