All correct except that last bit, unfortunately said algorithms and the content people are consuming *is changing* how people think.
The number of sane rational thinking people is decreasing dramatically day by day.

SGS or ‘Short Guy Syndrome’ is something I was dealing with in high school in the 90’s so it’s not solely a social media creation, though it surely has amplified it.
I wasn’t the short guy myself I’m actually quite on the large side, these guys half my size would constantly try to pick fights with me though for no real reason. A few of them succeeded in forcing me to defend myself, they lost of course. Not because I was a great fighter or anything but simply because they really couldn’t reach me with getting hit first. Hell I’m pretty sure I could have just fallen over on two of them and there wouldn’t have been shit they could do about it… that’s not really the point here though.
This isn’t a new thing.

lowkey if someone tells you that you’re too short to date them that’s a giant red flag

Girls do this too. I’m 6’2” and whenever I would date a girl over about 5’10” I learned they often had such insecurities about their height because they were too tall for some guys.

I like reddit for this.
I just get art, fun stories and the occasional meme on my homepage.
People who act like that are always downvoted in the communities I’m in.

I’m 6′ (like, exactly 6 foot- cut me in half and you could use either half as a yard stick), but I put 5’11” on dating apps because if you put 6′, people assume you’re 5’8″.
Maybe I’m buying into/propagating harmful stereotypes, though. I might start putting my actual height.

I remember being so surprised to learn that women won’t date a man under six feet. Hm. I’m a woman and I like my guys short and fluffy. Bald is ok too. Also ok to make less than six figures.
I’m looking for a man who treats me with respect and kindness. That’s what’s hot to me.

I mean it’s wrong to act like nobody cares. There are members of either gender who won’t even entertain a shorter/taller partner.

The fact that news sources and social media keeps pushing negative content, is actually proof that real people are not like that, because why would they report on something everyone sees as normal?

This lesson is one that I know for a fact to be true and yet I have a hard time swallowing that pill anyway. Not for a lack of trying though, it’s mostly a result of the damage that uncontrolled access to tge internet did to me as a kid

As a girl I don’t know many girls who only want gym bros 6 foot plus. Some of us just want to marry decent guys. I married an incredible guy, and we are going to the gym to exercise not get ripped.

Im in my 40s and under 6 feet. My entire life it never even crossed my mind that I wasn’t tall enough. Until just recently seeing shit online.
All of a sudden im like, “shit, am i short??” 😂😂
To the best of my knowledge, its never affected my dating life.
I’ve also never used a dating site. I’ve only dated and hooked up with women ive met in real life. So maybe that’s a difference.
