Purging the men who bravely fought the Nazis in the 1940-1950s show trials, was one of the worst crimes against humanity in history. Erasing heroes, the Soviet Union brutally repressed the eastern bloc.

I couldn’t believe that another man who escaped Auschwitz to document its horrors and report it to the wider world during the Holocaust (although he was a teenager at the time), Rudolph Vrba, went on to be a professor at UBC in Vancouver and lived until 2006!!!
My mom always regrets not making it out here sooner, to have the chance to hear him speak.
