Depends on the book, Madam Bovary has me laughing my ass off cause Emma is such a piece of shit and she’s blatantly shameless about it.
Same with A Dogs Heart cause my god that dog was a menace, as soon as he got new testicles and a pituitary gland, started drinking cursing harassing women.
Even in public I sometimes gasp or groan while reading. It must be ANNOYING AF

The Prologue for “A Memory Of Light” (14th and final book of the Wheel of Time) was so insane, that when it finished I had to take a smoke break before I continued reading.
