I have a feeling it’ll be like literally every other graphic enhancement ever. Right now it looks like some funky shit 1) cuz it’s new and 2) cuz it’s just in showcase mode. Remember when raytracing started being thing? Only like a handful of games had it and an even smaller portion could actually use it and an even smaller portion actually did it right.
Imo it’ll get better we’ll just have to see by how much.

Yeah, you will be able to turn it off, but OOPS! The devs were so reliant on DLSS, that without it your game runs at 40fps tops on RTX 7090 TI SUPER MEGA DRAGON SLAYER

I honestly love this footage of an AI upscale GTA 4. If it’s optional, I say let people have at it! We just need to make sure devs don’t get too lazy and stop putting in the actual effort to make art. I actually think it could be really fun to see all the games we could “remake” that’ll never get the full proper treatment
The main problem is not “optional” but expected players to have it.
They dont need to release a generational difference for new gpu. Just software lock the DLSS and give you 1 more cuda core, marketed +150% performance gain.
Also game devs will have no imcentive to optimise their game, like how all AAA games are > 100GB now, which is stupid.
