Only congress can declare war and the last time it did that was World War II. Everything since then was the president overstepping and doing war type things but calling it ”a conflict” or some other shit

This is hilarious, but isn’t helping my existential dread about the US.
If I punch someone in the face can I just claim it was a pre-emptive deescalation or would I still be charged for assault. Too often we get caught up in the words and definitions and to skirt around that we just have these terrible people making up bullshit like this. Refusing to call a spade a spade. I just don’t understand how people are okay with this. Why are they okay with it. What needs to happen to for change. What needs to happen for world peace? The world is getting worse and worse right now and I used to be such a positive person. Now I’m sitting here thinking about how nothing matters.
