That’s because It wasn’t Carthage the one that winned the battles, It was Hannibal. In a certain moment Carthage itself had a worse influence on his campaign than the Roman army.

Hannibal underestimated the stubborn Romans. Even after the total annihilation at Cannae, they still rose up and in the end Carthage got totally destroyed.

If you can raise more armies than the other side can kill you cant realy loose. At least you can buy some massive ampunts of time.

I said it once and I’ll say it again…

Hannibal should have gone for Carthage first… then use the entirety of the resources on Rome.

All that was lacking in his campaign is more resources.

Then again losing most of your men and material crossing the Alps in a forced march wasn’t as sound as it tends to be portrayed.

How many entire fleets of ships did Rome build and lose in the first war? Eventually they dominated the sea.

My neighbor told me Rome keeps invading their lands so I asked how many kids he has and he said he just goes to the populace and gets a newborn and I said it sounds like he’s feeding little kids to old gods and his wife started crying.
